To enroll in our Teenage Driver Education program you must be 15 to 17 years old. To qualify for an intermediate state driver's license you must be 16 years old. You will be given a Traffic Safety Education Driving Education program, this will allow you to qualify for testing with Washington State DOL for a Washington driver's license.
Our Teenage Driver Education program consist of 30 hours of classroom instruction and 6 hours behind-the-wheel instruction with 1 hour of driver observation. The complete course is five weeks in length and will include classroom instructions and behind-the-wheel instructions.
Instruction Permit is required for practice behind-the-wheel driving. If you are just 15 years old you will need a waiver form from the school to get the instruction permit. If you are 15.5 years old you can get a permit by going to the DOL with a parent or guardian and ID and taking the written test. Be sure to have a permit in hand when you get behind-the-wheel.
After completion of the Traffic Education program, parents/guardians should provide a minimum of 50 hours of supervised driving practice, with 10 of them at night, prior to taking the license test.
